Workbook

the workbook.
The workbook is not only designed to give the defendant a
better understanding of the criminal justice system but, more
importantly gives them the opportunity to do some introspection
and teaches them about themselves. It not only explains the
negative aspects of committing crimes and having criminal
records, but also helps them to identify problem areas within
themselves and gives solid tools and techniques to improve
in those areas of their lives. It allows them to set goals
and gives them tools to measure their progress toward achieving
those goals. It gives them practical experience filling out
resumes and job applications. It even goes into interviewing
and communication skills that they may use in the future.
The beginning of the book gives them a very hard, eye-opening,
look at the possible consequences of their criminal conduct
and how the system deals with them. However, by the time they
reach the end of the workbook it will have been a self-esteem
boosting project - leaving them with a more positive outlook
for making changes in their lives and for their future.
Video
The video is designed to walk a defendant through the booking
process and show them what jail life is 'really' like. Furthermore,
it shows them the destination of repeat offenders - prison
- and what life is like for prisoners. It also shows them
the impact that committing a crime has on the defendant's
family, community, and even the entire society. The video
showcases criminal psychologist and counselors who give instruction
on anger management as well as other behavioral control issues,
giving the defendant tools and techniques of dealing with
such problems that may be applied in their lives.
